DESCRIPTION:"Overview of Category Management\, Spend Under Management\, Best-in-Class Contracts and GSA Schedules"\n\n\n\n2020 has brought about more changes for GSA's consolidated Multiple Award Schedule (MAS)   the first refresh to the solicitation and the MAS "Phase II" mandatory modification that is converting existing contractors to the new MAS solicitation and Special Item Number (SIN) structure.\n\n\n\nThe Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) Transformation initiative is one of four cornerstone projects underpinning GSA's Federal Marketplace Strategy to modernize and simplify the\n\nbuying and selling experience for customers\, suppliers and acquisition professionals.\n\n\n\nGSA will modernize federal acquisition by consolidating the existing 24 Schedules into one single Schedule for products\, services\, and solutions. This will provide consistency in the\n\nprogram for all stakeholders\, make it easier for customers to find total solutions under one contract vehicle\, ensure terms and conditions meet the needs of our customers\, and eliminate\n\nduplicate contracts.\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers:\n\nDavid Park - National Account Manager\, Office of Customer and Stakeholder Engagement\n\nMarcelo Olascoaga - Director\, Customer Engagement & Solutions Development Division\n\n \nDavid Park serves as the National Account Manager within the Federal Acquisition Service at the U.S. General Services Administration.  Mr. Park services the following accounts: the Department of Health and Human Services\, the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency.  Prior to assuming his current position in the Federal Acquisition Service\, Mr. Park worked in GSA's Public Buildings Service as a: Supervisor Realty Specialist\, National Account Manager\, and Building Manager.  He has over 17 years of Federal service\, and all of it has been with GSA.  Mr. Park holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Finance from the University of Maryland at College Park.\n\n\n\nMarcelo Olascoaga is the Director of Customer Engagement and Solutions Development Division (CESDD) for the Office of Information Technology Category (ITC) in GSA's Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). The Federal Acquisition Service provides buying platforms and acquisition services to Federal\, State\, and Local governments for a broad range of items from office supplies to motor vehicles to information technology and telecommunications products and services. As an organization within FAS\, ITC provides access to a wide range of commercial and custom IT products\, services and solutions.  \n\nPreviously\, Mr. Olascoaga was a government contractor and an entrepreneur managing a start-up technology company conducting business in the United States and Latin America.  Afterwards\, he resumed his federal career in a start-up Government agency under the Department of the Treasury\, where he was responsible for Enterprise Architecture\, Capital Planning and Investment Control\, and IT Strategic Planning.  He continued his federal career as a CIO for an agency within USDA before joining the General Services Administration (GSA).
