Events & Marketing Assistant
Part-time: 25 hours / Pay: $21 per hour

The Chamber is currently seeking an Events & Marketing Assistant to assist the organization in meeting its member support and engagement goals. This position is highly interactive, requiring a professional image, strong attention to detail, and excellent communications skills. The individual provides messaging and correspondence to members and the community, assists with various events, and performs support activities including but not limited to scheduling, typing, filing, copying, computer operations, telephone service, logging meeting minutes, and project management. Working both onsite and virtually, This Part-time position (25 hours a week) reports to the Director of Events & Programs. This person will also work closely with the Communications Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Help develop marketing campaigns for Chamber events and programs, as well as membership.
- Aid in the writing of event copy, social media posts, newsletter articles, and membership correspondence.
- Support coordination and execution of webinars and other online or in-person events.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of comprehensive task lists (pre, onsite, and post) for meetings, events, and conferences.
- Assists in speaker management for events.
- Support the design of graphics for the website and social media as needed.
- Supports the development and creation of the Chamber’s e-newsletters and email campaigns.
- Assist with refreshing or editing website content.
- Schedules event, membership, and committee meetings.
- Travel to meetings and events as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and manage time well.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and apply association policies, objectives, and operations requirements.
- Ability to work with and interact effectively with a wide range of people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Drop Box and in learning how to use other software work tools.
- Familiarity with electronic communications/web sites and databases.
- Familiarity with email marketing software/tools.
- Able to lift and carry boxes and supplies of at least 30 lbs., move quickly at meeting sites.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in marketing, business or related field of study or equivalent experience.
- Previous association or non-profit experience is preferred, not required.
- Experience in social media or digital marketing is a plus.
- Experience/Certification in event planning is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Outstanding customer service skills with strong interpersonal abilities and positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft 365, video platforms, email platforms, design software, and CRM database systems
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM with occasional meetings or events before or after hours.

Physical Functions:
- Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 40 pounds).
