Building Families for Children Back-to-School Backpack Drive & Volunteer Opportunity

As graduations are celebrated and the school year comes to a close, Building Families for Children (BFC) is already preparing for the upcoming school year to ensure children and families in our community begin the year equipped for success.

Through our annual Back-to-School Backpack Drive, we are working to provide fully packed backpacks to students in need throughout Howard County and surrounding communities.

Backpack Collection Drive

Now through July 17, 2026

Community members, businesses, churches, and organizations are invited to donate new, fully packed backpacks.

Volunteer Packing Parties

July 21–23, 2026

Help prepare backpacks for distribution by joining one of our volunteer Packing Parties at:

Volunteer Shift Times

• 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Organizations, churches, businesses, and community groups are encouraged to participate.

When registering volunteers, please provide:

• Number of volunteers attending
