The ClayGround Studio & Gallery is celebrating a Grand Re-Opening and 5th Year Anniversary this weekend in Ellicott City. The celebration will begin on Thursday, September 23rd at 4:00 pm with a ribbon cutting and will run throughout the weekend with tours, demonstrations, give-a-ways, and more. The event follows a year-long renovation of the entire historic building that began during the initial Covid 19 shutdown. The studio, which offers a range of pottery, fused glass, and mosaic classes as well as an art gallery of pieces from local artists, updated the inside of the building to reflect the needs of the art studios, its students, and gallery customers. Facility updates include modernized studio equipment, open design with increased natural lighting, increased accessibility and flow throughout the building as well as a central HVAC system. Thursday evening’s festivities will kick off with a ribbon cutting by local dignitaries at 4:00 pm followed by live music with the local band The High & Wides at 6:00pm accompanied by lite food and drink. Local artists and instructors will be available to share their art and stories. Friday will provide an opportunity for hotels, civic or social groups, home schools, employers and others interested in team building and group activities to tour the facilities. Saturday will be full of fun, face painting, balloons, give-a-ways, artist demonstrations, and classes culminating in a 5th Anniversary party with give-a-ways for class participants, along with lite fare and drink. Sunday is another fun-filled day of give-a-ways and entertaining challenge demonstrations with instructors.
