As elected officials and public health authorities throughout Maryland work to control the spread of COVID-19 in our state and the DMV region, employers are bracing for a phased and gradual reopening of the economy that requires planning and novel support. Preparing to Open will foster and promote conversations on topics from barriers to reopening, to big questions about immunity and liability, to ways employers can incorporate innovative approaches to safety into the workplace.
This series will feature five in depth conversations with a cross-sector of industry experts led by Howard Chamber CEO, Leonardo McClarty. Preparing to open will take begin Thursday, May 14 and conclude Thursday, May 28. These conversations will run from 1 PM to 2PM. Sessions will be recorded so that interested persons may listen to the content later as we prepare to move Howard County and the state forward in a post Covid19 environment.
Preparing to Open - Series 4: Education
While the spread of COVID-19 has impacted global markets, the education system has been severely impacted as well. K-12 systems and higher education systems have sought to adapt by preparing to teach and support students remotely. These changes will bear significant longer term impacts. Traditionally, K-12, higher education and workforce learning have seemingly been treated as their own distinct silos in the education market, but the coronavirus crisis has revealed how interdependent these sectors may be.
