SESSION FIVE: Managing Conflict

This course provides participants with an understanding of their own strengths, weaknesses and beliefs around conflict resolution and the techniques to effectively resolve conflict and maintain relationships. Topics include understanding conflict styles, position versus interests, and the importance of surfacing conflict. Participants will apply their skills in the course.
Course Objectives
· Explain the strategies for dealing with conflict
· Explain the difference between position and interest in a conflict
· Describe the techniques to collaborate to resolve conflict
· Describe the techniques to manage emotions during conflict

If the Howard County Government offices are closed due to inclement weather, HCCC events will be canceled and rescheduled at a later date. Otherwise, events will take place as scheduled.
