Building Future Tech Talent: DP Solutions Hosts STEM Day with Building STEPS

Columbia, Md. — April 29, 2026 — DP Solutions, a Maryland-based managed IT services provider, is partnering with Building STEPS, a Baltimore nonprofit, to host a hands-on STEM Day for Baltimore City high school students on Thursday, May 21, at its Columbia headquarters.

Now in its fourth year, the annual STEM Day reflects DP Solutions’ longtime partnership with Building STEPS and shared commitment to expanding access to technology education and career pathways for underrepresented students. The event provides students with hands-on technology activities, mentorship from IT professionals, and exposure to real-world careers in the tech industry.

Building STEPS supports Baltimore City students as they prepare for college and careers in STEM fields. Nearly all Building STEPS participants are the first in their families to graduate from high school or earn a college degree. Approximately 80% of students in the program go on to complete a college degree.

“Hosting STEM Day is one way we can help students see what’s possible in technology and connect classroom learning to real careers,” said Melissa Bryant, president at DP Solutions. “We hope this experience not only inspires students, but also encourages other organizations to support and engage with programs like Building STEPS.”
During the event, students will rotate through interactive stations led by DP Solutions team members and volunteers, learning about technology concepts, IT careers, and the skills needed to succeed in the field.
