Howard County Winery Celebrates Double Bronze
This year marked the 26th annual Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirits Competition where Penn Oaks Winery added two wines to their award winners list. Coming off a bronze and silver win in 2025, the family winery located in Cooksville, MD, was excited to receive two bronze awards for their selected entries into this year’s competition.
Regent, a bold German red high in tannins from prolonged skin contact post crush has notes of blackberry, black currant, cocoa, smoke, and leather was the first bronze won by the family winery this past June.
The second bronze awarded was for their Piesporter, a delicate floral wine bursting with aromas of elderflower, honey, and apricot. This German white wine has been a staple on the Penn Oaks wine list since their founding in 1997.
Both wines are on display at their tasting room located on 14607 Riggs Meadow Dr in Cooksville, MD, and available to purchase during their open hours on weekends from 12 pm – 6 pm.
